2010 Skijoring in Silverton, Colorado

I promised hot cowboys, fast horses, and top notch ski talent in this post well here you go…

I want to take him home.

Warming up for the races while the morning snow falls.

More warm ups…  right in front of the Stellar Bakery and Pizzeria

On looker Mike G. one of our towns acclaimed musicians. He’ll be playing at the Velvet Lounge (in the Villa Dallavalle) tonight. You should drop in and put in a request for some Buddy Holly.

Happy mom’s pulling happier children in toboggans.

The races are on!  The horses seemed to love the run too!

And I mean they ran!  This was one very VERY fast horse!

Setting up for the last jump!

Pam (on right) and her good friend Diane watch as a team rushes by! Pam is my friend who runs the  Villa Dallavalle Bed and Breakfast and Velvet Lounge.  For you Twitter folks you can find Pam and the Villa Dallavalle B&B at ( @VillaDallvalle ).

Our handsome cowboy and his steed streaking up Blair Street while skier literally  flies through the air right in front of the VillaDallavalle Bed and Breakfast.

And another competitor puts in his bid on the last jump.

One of  Heathers best friends, Audry came to town to watch the event.

And Audry’s husband Kyle, one of our volunteer Fire Fighters!

End of the day, another handsome cowboy cooling down his horses right along Green Street!

And in case you didn’t get enough of that handsome cowboy dude in the beginning of the  post…

Sigh…..

Yeah I wonder if by some fate that the good ol’ boy will wonder across this blog post. He’ll be all a shegrin… ;) Pretty sure he’ll remember me too because he asked if I got the picture as he road off.

Yes I feel right in this town. Its special little place. You got to watch your P’s and Q’s to survive here, but its lazy quiet, charming and full of great people. If one doesn’t mind a simplistic lifestyle it’s the pace for to live.

Good to see you back here at THE PONY EXPRESSION

WOW! Our manager, (Pam), forwarded these pictures to us and it is unbelievable! This is something that could take over in the winter!lol Especially since we have so many cowboys and cowgirls in the area!lol And the best thing about the horses………..it’s all natural energy!!!!! We want to thqnk all of those who helped put this together. Silverton has a “first” on this. Let’s keep it going111

I’m all for keeping this going in Silverton and the surrounding area. As long as we can keep it safe for horses and everyone around. It was a blast!

Thanks for the comment and I’m happy that (Pam) shared these with you guys. Great PR for VillaDallavalle!! I’m all over that.

Hey there – Jeff Dahl is the name of the cowboy you think looks like a tall drink of water. He lives down in Durango and will be attending the Ski Joring races down mainstreet in Leadville on March 5-7. Just in case you want to catch him flying down the avenue on his horse again this winter!

Wow. Colorado + snow + horses + hot cowboys = total awesomeness. Never been there but always dreamed of moving that way.

As research on behalf of a loyal new reader in Texas, would you consider taking a few more pics at the Ski Joring races in Leadville? ;)

Hi great to have you hear. I wont be able to attend the Leadville ski joring races. I’ll be attending a Kettlebells seminar with its premiere instructor to improve my form and skills on that weekend.

I don’t get out of town much between being somewhat isolated in the San Juan mountain range and work – keeps me pretty busy here in Silverton. That’s why we bring the fun stuff here to us.

Hope you enjoy our other functions as they come up and if you are ever in Colorado please stop in Silverton – there is nothing like it anywhere in the US.
