THANKFUL THURSDAY
Simrat stole my thunder today, I was going to write about my parents, but in the interest of keeping things interesting for our Thankful Thursday readers, I’ll save that post for next week. I have some special memories of my parents as we all do, or at least I hope we all do, and also of my grandmother and great aunt and uncle. Memories that molded me into who I am today. Next week I’ll share some of them. I am thankful that I am healthy and that my life has had a good deal of quality to it thanks to these people and memories they left me with.
My list of thankfulness today starts here with memories. I am feeling thankful that I have had the opportunity to experience these things in life.
Linen and cut lace, blackberries and blackberry cobbler, ducks on ponds, billy goats, daffodils, horse whiskers, peanut butter cookies, lamb stew and soda bread, cotton dresses, river bed swimming holes, cut offs, butterflies, Ken and the way he made me feel, the almond tree in our back yard when I was small.
hmm.. I think I’m hungry?
Wait! There’s more to be thankful for… the memory of the aroma of my babies hair and the feel of her skin, what it feels like to be hugged, sweat on a horses neck, Chief for the countless hours that he carried me upon his back at break neck speeds, I’m thankful for this very capable body of which I have been blessed and these swift legs that carried me everywhere I went as a child, CHEESECAKE!, Krissy and our many excursions together, my funky but wonderfully warm blanket that keeps me cozy and comfy every night. I love that blanket. I’m thankful for buffalo…

Frankly I am thankful to be alive, and that in experiencing these and many more things to the fullest, I am thankful that I have truly lived.
I am thankful for memories.
