THANKFUL THURSDAY

Oh this is hard today!  I have at least three different subjects I’d like to write about today concerning my thankfulness.  Problem, is each one will be a book, and need photo’s etc to help readers get a true sense of the topic and how it makes me feel.  Those photos are up in Colorado with Heather, hense I’ll be waiting until after my move to share these Thankful Thursday topics.  One of those topics will be about the long overdue post about my parents, my favorite family members, and my best friends while growing up and how we lived and how those experiences shaped us into who we are today.  I will say this. I am so thankful that these people are the ones who influenced my life.

Simple things to be thankful for…

1) That Paisano and Prophecy are becoming good buddies over the fence and I may be able to move them in together sooner than I had thought.  This means that Pro gets to stay a stallion longer which will help his development (he comes from a very slow developing lineage), and both he and Pai will be able to play, hang out, and just be horses together. It’s pretty nice to have someone close by who is willing to scratch your hard to reach itchy places and to swish flies from your eyes with their tails.  For this simple possibility I am thankful.

2)  I am thankful that in these economic hardship times, that my friends are finding their true selves by making positive changes in their lives.  It is frightening for everyone and stepping out of comfort zones can feel like having a limb ripped from the body. I have to say this though, having been in that mode of jumping “out” of the boat (it was sinking anyway), then learning how to swim has empowered me to become anything I want to be.  So my dear friends who are swimming the deep channel, it is one simple, smooth and unhurried stroke at a time…  relax and enjoy the feel of the healing waters…   float when necessary, then continue on.  You will be surprised how quick the shore appears, and even more surprised at what you discover when you get there!  Thumbs up! You are now a PIONEER and I admire you!

Here’s a toast to you who are stepping out…

Go get e’m!

Thank the Universe for Billy Currington!!  Put’s a GIANT SMILE  on this face!  “I Wanna Be A Hill Billy” …  you and me both Billy!

This feels  like a Garth Brooks moment and “The River” and “Outside the Fire”…   you’ll have to do your own search to listen to the songs, or slip your CD into your CD player…  the messages are well worth your efforts.  I am so thankful for these songs!

3) I’m pretty thankful for the “Primitive Brain” (Basal Ganglia – for which without it Billy nor Garth could remember a lyric), how it learns, and maintains our bodies functions even when we are asleep. Its pretty amazing how secure we feel when we lay our heads on our pillows and close our eyes.  Our so called “smarter brain” (Cerebral Cortex) gives up it’s perceived reign to the true boss, the Basal Ganglia who learns, stores, recalls and basically never sleeps while it keeps our bodies functioning like a fine oiled machine’s Supervisor while smart A** Cerebral take its breaks.  Thanks Basal Ganglia for being my constant companion and for being such a great Boss…

I wouldn’t be the same without you!
