Kick Starting a Brand New Life

Saturday, 11. February 2012 22:25

I thought I had been going through a sort of death and rebirth over the past few years.  Going back through this blog its  apparent the struggle of birth with all its discomfort, and like a baby, I just don’t want to look back upon it anymore.  I have some ideas for the future. Ive thought a lot about just writing snippets on gratitude, or short notes on moving forward, something positive or rewarding. Just doesn’t feel right in this venue. Too many memories on this blog of how I got here.

So…

I’m mulling over the idea of a new blog to commemorate not just having been reborn, but more importantly that I’m living my new life and about to  take off and soar.

I have a new dog, a standard chocolate poodle named Persia.  She is a delightful upbeat addition to my life.  I’m already learning so much from her.  She’s the best company ever!

I’m very close to owning my canoe, only a few more payments, and Persia and I will be out on the water this summer.  Finally!  Somewhere back in this blog I discuss what being out on water would mean to me.  Well I’m almost there(!), and I have the greatest companion ever  in Persia to share it with.

A beautiful Spanish mustang mare is coming to live with me in a few months, Her name is MP Cinnamon Spice.

She is a bay daughter of Ghost Warrior,  and out of Sequoya’s Creek Shawnee.  I wont be owning Cinnamon, at least not up front. I will be leasing her for two years with a goal of training her and getting a foal from her.  With the decision to lease Cinnamon, my life feels alive and full again.

Some crucial realizations have come to me the past few months.  For one, I am unable to walk away from my horse passion. Its just what makes me tick.  My desires have not changed.  Ive tried to open my heart, mind and soul to other possibilities, but they wain and pale to the machine that drives my love of horses.  Among those realizations I’ve been having are, I want a place with pasture, an age old dream, and  that I love genetics.  I love at least the dream of breeding horses. I’m going to breed I think. Maybe not on any real kind of scale, but I have ideas and direction again. Also my eyes have been opened to coverups, lies and unspoken suspicions.  I wont be fooled so easily again.  Mistakes made were made at a price I refuse to pay again. I will learn from them and turn them into positive guidelines for a successful future.

Its scary to try this again.  But I’m up for it!

So I’ll leave The Pony Expression for now as it is. Wow, that conjured up some emotion.

See ya around.  Hopefully you come along on my next journey and share in the exhilaration of it with me. You’ll have to come along if you want to know what the rest of the story is….  ;)

Here All About It!

Saturday, 5. December 2009 12:16

Yeah yeah I know I said I was going to cut the links to all the posts to my blog  except for the  Thankful Thursdays etc.  But after asking a few people their opinion, I have decided to leave them.  Plus when I check out the visitors on my stats page most are coming to view those very pages. Ones like Sunday Historathon – 1800′s, maybe I should continue it?, and create a Saddle series, and continue the Cowboy life.  I have a piece from someone I met on Twitter that I have not posted yet for the Cowboy Life series.  It’s a good one too.  There is a gal who may start posting her Thankful Thursdays on THE PONY EXPRESSION too.

I like how this blog reflects my life history both sad and happy, but also has interesting things outside of me for folks to read.

Lesson learned there are no final decisions.

Blogging

Monday, 16. November 2009 23:06

Hi Folks!

Been awhile…  I am trying to decide whether to continue this blog or to begin a new one. The idea is to concentrate only on Thankful Thursday. I believe many subjects are covered by natural law within a Thankful Thursday post.  One post weekly or even monthly is about all I’ll be able to muster.  If anyone would like to share their thoughts on this please comment.  I’ll consider your ideas.

Thanks for your continued visits to THE PONY EXPRESSION

Amiss In My Blogging Duties

Friday, 17. July 2009 21:10

Gosh I just realised tonight that I have missed two of my Thankful Thursday posts this month.  Smack me down on the spot!  I have much to be thankful for and this next Thursday I’ll share it all with all of you.

Not only am I amiss with my Thankful Thursday duties but I also have a great Cowboy Code and Ethics piece to post written by one of my readers.

And I have some hiking adventures to share.

Work in Silverton is moving along nicely. I’m picking up massage jobs at a consistant pace which is encouraging.

I’ll get back to it soon so keep checking back.

Moving Notice!

Thursday, 25. June 2009 12:44

My internet is going to go offline sometime today. So thought I’d post one last Arizona post before my move to Colorado  tomorrow. Looks like I’m on schedule. Cleaning bathroom now. Outside work is done. Will begin loading truck soon. Then finish cleaning up the room. I can’t believe it – I am moving. Finally after so many years of indecision. I’m moving and will be closer to Heather and Malcolm…

…my family.

I heard from Kathy about Pro and he is settled into a boarding facility in Utah. The facility owner seems quite taken with him and sees the difference between a BLM Mustang and a Spanish Mustang.  That is what I loved about my particular SM’s you knew they were different. They exuded quality.  Pro definitely does all of that and then some.  I won’t stop worrying about him though until he is safe at Kathys home. When Pro left here he was sleek shiny and full of vigor. (In near show quality shape with hooves trimmed, shots,  wormed, and bathed with a new halter and fly mask). I expect him to be scarred up (from stud colt fights) , much thinner, and somewhat subdued and a tangled mess when he arrives at Kathy’s.  Kinda breaks my heart to be honest.  But she will put him back in tip top shape in no time.

Once I get to Colorado and get settled I’ll get back online to give an update.

See ya all back here soon!

;) S

A Day To Be Thankful

Thursday, 18. June 2009 10:12

I love Thankful Thursday because I really focus on what I have to be thankful for. I love Thankful Thursday because it has me thinking all week long on what I have to be thankful for. When things happen, good things, I immediately acknowledge them as something to grateful for. When the bad things happen I look for something that will emerge from the struggle to be grateful for.  The bad things make the good things ,all of them, much grander.

As long as we understand that to be thankful is an attitude altering experience and thus life changing and beneficial, we will seek out things to be thankful for resulting a life filled with grace and joy.

Things To Be Thankful For

Thursday, 11. June 2009 8:54

As always in today’s Thankful Thursday I look for the simplest of things and try to see even the adversity life has thrown at me as something to be thankful for. There is so much to be thankful for. It’s all in the perspective you adopt for yourself.  How you wish to see and live your life.
